Beverly International Antioxidant Formula is the optimum Antioxidant anywhere. An absolute MUST for hard training athletes. Results of intense exercising, an increase of two muscle enzymes (creatine kinase and lactate dehydrogenase). Normally these enzymes stay in the muscle, but when found in the blood, an occurrence after intense training, they indicate muscle damage.
Thus antiox- such as Vitamin C, E and beta carotene when introduced in large doses, show reduction of these enzymes very rapidly. Thus antioxidants taken in higher than the so-called RDA values prevents the normal breakdown of muscle tissue which accompanies the strenuous exercise, thus an anticatabolic effect.
Taking regularly seems to indicate an increase ratio of testosterone vs. cortisol, the ideal effect for increasing lean muscle mass. Another positive side effect is improved capacity for protein synthesis and tissue regeneration following exercise.
